Gemini is currently seeking a Plaque/Cast Manufacturing Specialist to join an outstanding team dedicated to producing high-quality, custom metal letters in Decorah, IA on our 1st and 2nd shift. The minimum starting pay is $ 17.09 per hour, taking experience into consideration. Off shift receives an additional 10% shift differential. Benefits start in less than 30 days!

1st shift is Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Pay Rate starts at $17.09.

2nd Shift is Monday - Thursday, 2pm - 12:30am. Pay Rate starts at $18.80, includes 10% shift differential


Essential Functions

Metal Letter Finishing

  • Perform all aspects of finishing metal products including; sawing, sanding, drilling, tapping, hand finishing, blasting, stroke sanding and polishing.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all finishing department related equipment.

Rail Mount / Custom Assembly

  • Read and understand blueprints and shop drawings in determining the nature of the products to be manufactured.
  • Coordinate steps necessary to complete project with sales and shop personnel.
  • Maintain assembly supply inventory.
  • Complete all steps necessary in creating an finished product.

Cut-Out Fabricator

  • Gain an operational understanding of design and nesting software to assist in water jet and laser cutting.
  • Assist in operation and maintenance of water jet and laser equipment
  • Utilize material handling equipment to move and replenish sheet.

Painter

  • Mix appropriate quantity of paint per work order, ensure that the paint is properly mixed as indicated by local conditions and matching paint chips or samples if required by the job.
  • Spray products as required, ensuring that paint is applied in a manner consistent with customer requirements and company quality standards.
  • Apply powder coat insuring proper texture and color.
  • Involvement with masking for multi-color projects.
  • Paint repair, wet sanding and buffing.

Shipping & Crating

  • Inspect finished products for function, aesthetics, and quality, if required, and may repair products as necessary.
  • Maintain familiarity with shipping procedures, bill of lading etc. and prepare products for UPS/truck pick-up required.
  • Operate plotter to produce mounting patterns.
  • Complete the mounting pattern punching process.
  • Operation of shipping software programs. I.e. World ship, Ship ease.
  • Use of table saws and drills.
  • Operation of material handling equipment.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalency through work experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate a variety of power saws, routers, sanders and material handling equipment.

Preferred Experience/Knowledge:

  • Manufacturing experience
  • CNC programming/operation, waterjet and/or laser experience,
  • HVLP painting,
  • Sanding, polishing,
  • General maintenance, material handling equipment.
