We are currently hiring a Casting Operator whom will report to the Plant Manager at Prince George plant. The Cast Operator will support cast operator in starting and terminating casts, controlling flow of metal, inspecting quality of logs (e.g., cracks, drag marks and bleed-outs). Collect aluminum samples at set times, assist with changing filtration, and monitoring cleanliness of metal. Constructs control cones, shutdown cones, and use refractory materials to construct heat barriers and dams. Monitor alarms, temperatures, and stay alert for abrupt changes during a cast. Work through brief, high-stress environments that are critical to team safety.

Candidate requirements:

• Work in a team environment at a fast pace
• Be dependable and accountable to show up to work on time
• Work a rotating schedule of 12-hour shifts/3 to 5 days-per-week, alternating every other weekend including overtime
• Work effectively in hot (120) and cold temperatures for long periods of time
• Have good math skills
• High School Graduate or GED Good verbal and written communication skills
• Careful and methodical around molten metal
• Able to stay focused and calm in stressful environments
• Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and lifting of heavy objects up to 85 lbs. for long periods of time
• Perform repetitive tasks with few breaks
• Able to wear required PPE

• Monitor and control the cleanliness and flow of metal to the molds
• Monitor temperatures and furnace conditions
• Daily inspection of casting equipment and cranes
• Identify and prevent quality issues including cracks, drag marks, and bleed-outs.
