Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Category Analytics Manager. This role has the potential to sit at our corporate office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn OR remote. This is a great opportunity for an experienced individual to work closely with the founding team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of major growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is data-driven, CPG savvy, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).

The Category Analytics Manager main role is to understand the data behind our wholesale operation inside and out. This person will analyze sales information from all vendors in order to drive strategic decision making in the wholesale space. They will maintain relationships with a number of wholesale partners and work cross-functionally within the company to pitch sales opportunities and ensure our sales goals are met or exceeded each quarter.

**Please Note: Position can be Remote in New York City or Los Angeles

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive strategic decision-making through deep understanding and analysis of various sales data sets (sell-in, sell-through, inventory, etc.)
  • Monitor attainment to business plans and forecasts to ensure all sales goals are met or surpassed
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and teams to provide analytic support to measure promotional activity and determine effectiveness to drive future recommendations and strategies
  • Perform POS and Inventory data analysis to provide insights into category growth and channel marketing performance and assist sales team in making decisions based on these learnings
  • Identify & analyze large amounts of information from multiple sources to identify customer profiles & trends
  • Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor and quantify the impact of decisions made and help improve future Sales initiatives
  • Develop sales reporting capabilities, including owning KPI dashboards and performing critical sales data analytics
  • Maintain and analyze sales data from our food service and retail partners, including distributors, brokers, and customers
  • Support cross functional business processes including Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and forecasting
  • Build analyses to support new market launches and new products, including market sizing, new SKU forecasts, and more
  • Support Sales Strategy projects, including white space analyses, channel/sub-channel strategy development, and long-term planning models

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5+years of experience in data analysis
  • 3-5+ years of experience analyzing large amounts of data for the purpose of providing actionable recommendations and presenting data in an understandable format
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience working with Spins, iri, and Nielsen data preferred
  • Ability to sustain high accuracy and work performance
  • Technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, self-prioritizing work load in a fast paced, team-oriented work environment
  • Strong comprehension and problem-solving skills
