Summary:
The Category Manager – Equipment (CM) is responsible for coordinating and optimizing Equipment Sourcing and Spare Parts Procurement. The CM maintains relationships with internal stakeholders at various Qorvo sites; organizes requirements and manages interactions with Suppliers. The CM implements comprehensive agreements with suppliers outlining all commercial and technical aspects. The CM maintains ownership of supplier contracts, commercial terms and price performance. The CM also leads periodic review sessions with key suppliers, achieves cost reductions, manages quotations and perfoms cost analysis to aid in negotiations. The CM must generate competition, qualify alternative solutions, coordinate sample evaluations, evaluate vendor capability, capacity and overall ability to deliver. The CM must also drive process standardization strategies across all Qorvo sites, resolve supplier nonconformance issues and implement corrective actions, as well as prepare and present periodic Category Reports to the Executive Team.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Global Qorvo spend on equipment and associated spare parts; achieve annual cost reduction goals
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to qualify alternative sources of lower cost equipment and parts
  • Measure supplier performance, conduct supplier business reviews and implement improvements
  • Measure spending and savings, set cost reduction goals and manage projects to achieve success
  • Maintain Category Strategy and present Category Report-Outs to leadership

Qualifications:

  • Self-Managed/Motivated: the ability to independently set priorities, meet commitments and the desire to seek valuable improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to clarify complex situations and gather consensus with internal and external audiences
  • Multitasking: the ability to manage numerous activities simultaneously and reprioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge about the semiconductor industry and semiconductor equipment
  • Background in (or work closely with) Equipment and Process Engineering
  • Experience with SAP (Material Management module, PO, Material Master, etc.) and supplier contract administration
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or similar
