Thriving in a remote, fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Category Manager – Energy Storage takes a hands-on approach in leading efforts to commercially qualify and negotiate terms of the business relationship for Soligent while striking the appropriate balance between service, cost management, and assurance of supply. This role plays an instrumental part in bringing clean, affordable, and modern energy to the world.

Helps Soligent make a positive impact by:

  • Implementing and maintaining inventory and material management strategies by regular review and optimization of inventory parameters and levels
  • Consulting with suppliers regarding the availability of products and lead times
  • Supporting leadership with a data-backed strategy to support or take lead on negotiations and partnership conversations
  • Supporting and implementing category strategies utilizing various value levers that deliver improved cost, reduced risk, and more efficient processes
  • Supporting with process improvements, including leading and executing projects and communicating with all stakeholders, including upper management
  • Maintaining the accuracy of feasible replenishment plans across all distribution networks.
  • Managing inventory levels in order to maximize sales
  • Coordinating with suppliers on new product roll-outs.
  • Reviewing out-of-stock situations or shortage of supply issues and recommend mitigating action.
  • Developing exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for Supply Chain issues/variances and performing corrective action plans
  • Balancing inventory between multiple warehouses.
  • Maintaining and reporting out on individual and team objectives, key results, and KPIs.
  • Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Suppliers to implement monthly promotional strategies to assist with promoting new and or slow-moving product sales.
  • Building supplier relationships for applicable products by attending Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR's), industry events, and trade shows.
  • Actively participating in meetings with the sales team and collaborating to improve product sales.
  • Supporting with all other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements: The Category Manager – Energy Storage must have the following skills:

  • 4+ Years in planning, buying, and/or inventory management or a similar role
  • Solar industry knowledge with preference of energy storage experience
  • In-depth Excel knowledge; experience working with large data sets in Excel
  • Proficiency with ERP systems- NetSuite preferred.
  • Successful experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and vendor partners
  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners at all levels
  • Ability to act as a flexible and innovative team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a hands-on approach
  • Ability to manage time effectively and be focused on setting and executing clear objectives and priorities
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Colorado is expected to be $75,000 - $85,000 per year and for a candidate in NYC is expected to be $75,000 - $85,000 per year , but may be higher or lower in other States due to geographic differentials in the labor market.
