Catering Sales Manager - Holiday Inn Hartford Downtown Area
Job description
The Catering Sales Manager is primarily responsible for bringing in meeting and catering business into our hotel.
Understands sales and business processes, support corporate and hotel goals and contributes to enhancement of customer value
Focuses on achieving annual hotel revenue goals as established in the annual budget
Monitors achievement of objectives for the sales team and reports results to DOS
Aggressively solicits prospective group business for the hotel, while consistently maintaining profitable relationships with existing key accounts
Manages all aspects of the sales cycle with prospects: relationship development, sales presentations, proposal generation, contract negotiations and contract completion
Conscientiously ensures that all sales activities are accurate, and STS Sales System is documented in a timely and efficient manner
Conveys a favorable image of the hotel with a positive, professional appearance and demeanor
Participate in and/or perform outside sales calls to acquire new business and/or close on business in correlation with tasked weekly sales activity goals
Able to provide quick and timely responses, immediately communicate to the guests and properties, and develop professional long-term business relationships
Develop strong relationships with on property front office teams to ensure working together in unity and always striving to achieve the highest revenue goals
Accompany sales team on sales calls to potential clients to assist in development of the account and to access the effectiveness and sales skills of the salesperson
Become well versed in property PMS systems as well as STS and other program pertinent to property or position
Manage groups including room management, rooming lists, in-house needs, and billing
Detail and prepare for onsite meetings, events, banquets as needed
Responsible for assisting front desk and other operations as needed.
Complete and send required weekly, monthly, and quarterly documents/reports to superiors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000 - $55,000 per year

- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Hospitality sales: 1 year (Preferred)
- Sales: 2 years (Preferred)
