Primary Purpose:

Under the immediate supervision of the Mobile Manager, the CDL Driver is responsible for providing transport for the Collections team and supplies to/from the mobile locations, transport of the blood from mobile locations to DDC, and drive support duties to the collections team at the mobile site. Tasks include, but are not limited to, safely operating the buses and vans, packing of supplies and equipment, loading/unloading of equipment, set-up of mobile sites, transport of blood and other support duties as assigned.

The CDL Driver is also responsible for cleaning fleet vehicles, performing pre and post vehicle inspections, ensuring that any vehicle damage or malfunctions are immediately reported and that vehicle fuel level is sufficient.

The CDL Driver assists with the training of newly hired CDL drivers. Drivers must maintain a positive attitude, adjust to changing situations, and effectively communicate in a courteous, positive and timely fashion with inter/intra-departmental team members and the public.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Blood drive/bloodmobile preparations, equipment and supplies
• Pre-visits sites to ensure that the bus or other designated vehicles can safely maneuver in and around the site. Will confer and/or make recommendations to the Mobile Manager as necessary.
• May assist the Collections Management staff in site visits to map out designated rooms in preparation for upcoming mobile drives.
• Keeps mobile prep room neat and well stocked.
• Assists with supply kit building, labeling and other inventory procedures.

Required Licenses/Certifications Valid CDL drivers license with a clean driving abstract. ** DRIVING ABSTRACT MUST BE FURNISHED BY APPLICANT**

• Meets all requirements to hold the CDL license under Federal and State laws
• Must be safety-oriented in proper disposal and/or clean-up of sharps or contaminated items while following OSHA and BBH regulations on universal precautions.
• Ability to identify current and potential vehicle problems: notifies Administrative Production Manager immediately.

• Heavy & Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers: 1 year (Preferred)
