Job description
Summary
This position performs reception, admission fee collection, general facility monitoring and/or program support at various Parks and Recreation facilities.
Essential Functions
Monitors facility:
- open and/or close facility, supervise facility, monitor general organization and cleanliness of the facility; replenish supplies as needed.
Customer Service:
- assists patrons who walk in, answers phone, checks out equipment to patrons.
- operates computer-based daily admission/ pass registration/ rental program software; collects admission and pass fees; runs reports and prepares deposits of monies received during shift.
Rentals:
- supervise rentals, including after hour rentals.
Programs:
- assist with programs as needed; setup and take down tables, chairs and other equipment.
Carries out job duties in a safe manner in accordance with all Town, department, and regulatory policies; follows safety procedures. Identifies unsafe situations and work hazards, corrects them if possible, and reports them to their supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Knowledge of:
Recreation activities.
Town and department policies and procedures.
General safety rules and regulations.
First aid and CPR/AED.
Ability to:
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Operate a computer and software such as word processing and spreadsheets
Read, write, and perform mathematical calculations
Minimum Qualifications
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job.
Must be 18 years of age at time of employment.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 months customer service.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certification in first aid required within three months of employment.
- Certification in CPR within the first six months of employment.
Supplemental Information
Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed while, standing and sitting. Employee will occasionally lift light and heavy objects.
Work Environment:
Work is performed mostly indoors and occasionally outdoors. The employee may be exposed to noise, infectious and/or contagious diseases, and inclement weather.
Various shifts covering hours of operations from 5:00am-9:00pm 7 days a week.
Example of shifts:
- Regular weekday evenings 4:45pm-9:00pm
- Saturday 1:45pm-7:30pm
- Sunday 11:30am-3:30pm
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $15.85 per hour
