Essential Duties

1. The building engineer operates and maintains boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, air-conditioning facilities and all appurtenant equipment driven by steam, air, diesel, gas, water or any other power developing energy
2. Patrols, inspects and maintains all mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping and plumbing systems and equipment
3. Repairs toilet facilities, registers, radiators, lights, fixtures
4. Perform minor repairs on furniture and floors

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a High School or G.E.D. Equivalent.
• Must have previous engineering experience (2 years preferred).
• Must have a 608 certification
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods of time of up to 6 hours with or without reasonable accommodations
• Must be able to lift/carry/pull/push up to 50lbs.
• Availability required: Four 10 hours shifts primarily graveyards, but should be available for all shifts
• Must be willing to join Local 501 Union.

***Note: This position is union and the candidate hired will pay union dues according to the CBA.
