Boulder Medical Center is currently seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to work at our Foothills OB/GYN practice.

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is an Advanced Practice Nurse with a current registered nurse licensure in the state of Colorado and who has been admitted to the advance Practice Registry of the Colorado Board of Nursing. The CNM is prepared for an advanced role by virtue of additional knowledge, training and skills gained through a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME). The CNM must be board certified by a national professional nursing organization.

• Performs a comprehensive health assessment, including health history, physical exams, preventive screening, and identifies medical health risks and needs.
• Formulates the appropriate physical diagnosis based on clinical evaluation.
• Performs, orders and/or interprets diagnostic studies within the scope of practice and clinical area of practice at the Boulder Medical Center, P.C.
• Performs advanced technical procedures within the scope of clinical practice.
• Plans and implements therapeutic regimens that include medical management strategies, including prescription of medications. Includes obtaining and maintaining prescriptive authority per State Board Medical Examiner regulations.
• Establishes systematic follow-up for evaluation of the plan of care and reassesses and modifies the plan, as necessary, including initiation of referrals and consultation with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
• Assures patient and family teaching is adequate to manage the illness or wellness plan at home.
• Responsible for taking primary call shifts with back up of OB/GYN physicians. While on call, duties include managing and rounding on in-patient OB/GYN patients and responding to all after hours phone calls from hospital staff and patients.
• Willing to precept Advanced Practice Nursing Students, new graduates or new medical assistants.
• Documentation of peer presentation from continuing education, seminar or conference.
• Member of a Professional Organization.

Required Experience:

• 2 years as a Certified Nurse Midwife

Education:

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Colorado and admitted as a Nurse Practitioner to the Advance Practice Registry of the Colorado Board of Nursing.
• Certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
• Obtains and maintains prescriptive authority per State Board of Nursing regulations.

Salary Range:

• $45.00-$50.00 per hour
