Job Summary
Serves as a vital member of the Anesthesiology Care Team. Under the supervision of a physician anesthesiologist administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures; and performs anesthesia-related procedures. Evaluates patients preoperatively and, in consultation with the physician anesthesiologist, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan including monitoring and recording patient reaction to anesthesia and modifying the anesthetic plan accordingly. Safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent post baccalaureate training in Anesthesia. Experience: Typically, two years related experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Skilled in the use and maintenance of anesthesia equipment. Skill to communicate effectively with physicians, patients and other hospital employees. Ability to assist with patients who may need ICU ventilators, high-risk intubations and facilitate fiber optic intubations. ~Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR. Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the Sate of Colorado or a participating compact state. Board Certified Nurse Anesthetist License. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
