Job Description


The Chemist will develop and implement solutions to key objectives for the Specialty Chemicals Manufacturing business, from initial literature search to production implementation of commercial materials. The Chemist will collaborate with the extended team to lead material development, piloting efforts, and support engineers to execute equipment and facility tasks related to the manufacturing scale-up of specialty chemicals production.

The Chemist will:

  • Lead the literature search for the projects.
  • Lead identifying and completion of project objectives required for the successful execution of program goals.
  • Support the execution of infrastructure and equipment tasks required for program goals.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and design/system/process engineers to execute required tasks for manufacturing scale-up and implementation of Specialty Chemical production.
  • Collaborate with team members, business experts, and consultants to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety compliance
  • Lead identifying and completion of key objectives required for successful manufacturing scale-up and implementation

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • Prior experience with chemical processes, including lab/pilot and scale-up is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with design of experiment techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work without boundaries to accomplish critical tasks.

Other Requirements:

  • Sets priorities and works efficiently with limited direct supervision.
  • Prepares clear and concise data analysis and technical reports.
  • Works cross-functionally; develops and maintains good working relationships.
  • Implements and maintains a high level of organization of tests and samples.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Performs all assigned tasks, works independently, and completes work on schedule.
  • Ability to work on several tasks at once and to change priorities to align with the company's needs.
  • Demonstrates willingness to take initiative to complete projects in timely manner.
  • Proactive in detection and correction of possible EHS issues. Work with safety as first priority, for both the individual and the team.

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 105,000-125,000.
