Shift Options:
Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm
or
Monday-Friday 12:00pm-8:00pm

As an accredited school, we follow all academic standards for the State of North Carolina, fully equipping our students for academic success while addressing emotional and behavioral challenges. Our residential campus is also an expanded classroom that consists of camping, hiking, rock climbing, caneoing, and other activities.

Job Summary:
This position oversees student’s daily routine activities and transports students to outside hobby and self exploration activities. This position works with the treatment team to fulfill Lake House’s core purpose of creating joy and healing generations. This role also helps in the development and growth of students which includes having the capacity to authentically connect, build trust, actively listen, and communicate with others while displaying situational flexibility.

Responsibilities:
Scorecard/Key Outcomes (Job Expectations and Responsibilities) (to be accomplished within the first 12-36 Months)
Culture/Employee
  • Operates vehicles in a safe and efficient manner at all times, including safe backing procedures.
  • Obeys traffic laws including, but not limited to, using seat belts, obeying the speed limit, stopping at stop signs/lights, using turn signals and lights appropriately, and maintaining proper following distance.
  • At any time you feel you do not have control over the students (noice, disruptive behavior, aggressive) you should stop the car and provide safety. Do not resume until safety has been established.
  • Must pass LHA driving test first before driving a vehicle.
  • Crosses railroad tracks in accordance with the law and local procedure.
  • Reports all accidents and completes required duties and paperwork in accordance with company policy/procedure.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive rapport with students. Knows and uses student names. Greets students as they enter/exit vehicle.
  • Clearly communicates rules/procedures/expectations to students
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness in accordance to local policy/procedure. This includes ensuring the dash, aisle, floor, steps, windows, and mirrors are clean and clear.

Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or a High School diploma or GED with applicable experience
  • At least one year of experience working with youth
  • Ability to communicate effectively and timely in speech, writing, email, and phone
  • Pass State and Federal background check
  • Pass drug screening
  • Ability to consistently work evenings and weekends
  • Driver Record in good standing
