Summary:
Ensures that the children in the Day Care Program receive appropriate physical, nutritional, social, emotional and developmental care in accordance with established rules and regulations for children 6 weeks to 13 years of age.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures that the children in the Day Care Program receive appropriate physical, nutritional, social, emotional and developmental care in accordance with established rules and regulations for children 6 weeks to 13 years of age.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Floats between classrooms to aid teachers with classroom activities, fill in for breaks and curriculum planning
- Performs all routine tasks with regard to the health and safety of the children and the maintenance of the program in accordance with local, tribal and state regulations
- Collaborates with co-workers in a team approach to childcare and advocates for improvements of Early Childhood education
- Maintains an open, friendly and professional relationship with all families
- Assists in maintaining an orderly, safe, and stimulating environment
- Aids in disinfecting toys, furniture, floors, bathrooms, and other items and areas on a daily basis
- Rides daily bus route to transport children from the public school to the daycare
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must complete at least 25 hours of continuing education in the Early Childhood field or a related field annually
- Satisfactorily completed a minimum of 80 credited hours in an Early Childhood Program and have completed Infant and Toddler Course
- Ability to meet the minimum licensing requirement for Child Care Teacher as specified in DCF 251
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
