Scope of Job
Responsible for assisting in the implementation of the food service program for the Child Development Center through food preparation service and clean-up of the kitchen.
Description of Duties
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for enrolled children
- Prepare substitute items for children on restricted diets
- Distribute food to the classrooms
- Store and label foods appropriately in refrigerator, freezer and pantry
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies
- Wash and sterilize dishes, pots and pans daily after each meal
- Clean refrigerator, stove, bins, cupboards and counters
- Sweep and mop kitchen floor on a daily basis
- Any trash and recyclable material will be removed from the kitchen at the end of the shift
- Maintains verification of food and non-food purchases to meet Child Care and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)requirements
- Meets with Director or Assistant Director to develop monthly menus to meet CACFP meal pattern requirements
- Keeps a daily meal production record following the requirements of the CACFP

Relevant coursework as well as knowledge of specific departmental equipment and procedures. Knowledge of special equipment used in the field. Word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Use of standard office equipment. High school diploma or GED.
