About First Baptist Child Development Center

First Baptist Child Development Center is located on the east bench of Salt Lake City, near the U of U. As a non-profit facility and ministry, we aim to take care of each child as their own individual and help them grow and learn to the best of our ability. Although religious curriculum is not taught in the classrooms, we find that our approach helps each child feel that they are special and cared for.

Currently we are looking for friendly, loving, and patient caregivers who enjoy babies and children. Prior experience in the childcare field is appreciated, but not necessary.

Job Description

We are hiring for Early Childhood Teachers to help in each classroom at the center. The job of the teacher varies greatly, so the ideal candidate will be able to adapt to different situations and classrooms quickly. Below are the expectations of our teachers:

· Help maintain a safe, secure, developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

· Be able to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a positive respectful manner.

· Learn the ins and outs of all 11 classrooms (working with ages 4 weeks to 5 years)

· Be a self-starter (be able to see a task and get it done!)

· Be a team player that gets along with many different people and personalities.

· Flexible! (Be willing and able to be in any classroom at any time, and comfortable moving from one class to the next during the day.)

· Be punctual (our kids will show up with or without us, so it’s important that we are here and ready to care for them on time.)

· Maintain confidentiality

· Be willing and able to follow all child care licensing rules and regulations

Job Type: Part or Full Time

Benefits: Given to full time staff only

Training: We will help you obtain CPR and First Aid certification and offer resources to get your CDA.

Pay: $13.00-$16.00 per hour (based on education level and experience)

A $100 sign-on bonus will be given at the end of 30 days of employment.

All teachers must be vaccinated against COVID19. Teachers and all kids over 2 years old wear masks, and our classrooms are sanitized multiple times a day.

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
