City President Job Summary:
The City President is responsible for lending in given market area. Develops new customer relationships and maintains a positive presence in the local community. Fosters an environment that encourages open communication and adherence to high standards of business conduct with all employees and customers. The City President understands Southern’s mission and margin objectives and strives to achieve both.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise loan officers and loan staff in designated area of responsibility.
- Ensures a competent, motivated staff through hiring, training, managing, coaching and reviewing performance of employees.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the loan policy and procedure statement and complies with all provisions thereof.
- Reviews procedures and recommends changes to enhance the quality of the Southern's customer service.
- Achieves and maintains required loan portfolio balance and yield as directed by senior management while complying with loan policy and procedures.
- Develops new business, maintains professional network, and establishes a favorable presence in the local market by participating in civic organizations and community activities.
- Serves as escalation manager for bank operations if/when branch manager isn’t available.
- Travels to locations within market.
- Participates in a team effort to cross-sell bank and affiliate products and services.
- Monitors budget, strategic plan and prepare Board materials for monthly meetings.
- Supports Southern’s mission activities in market area.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Six (6) years of related experience in lending
- Five (5) years of management experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Able to read, analyze, and understand the most complex documents.
- Able to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Able to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Maintains required certificates, licenses and registrations.
- Proficient use in software tools utilized in position.
