Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team headquarters in Katy, TX. The Civil/Structural team currently consists of 18 employees and focuses on the associated technical aspects of our EPC projects – from early development phase through commissioning and turnover.

What You Will Do

• Assist Lead Engineers in design and engineering of Gas Processing Plants.
• Interact with suppliers and contractors as necessary to resolve design issues.
• Provide project and field construction support as necessary: including troubleshooting and/or evaluation of existing civil/structural systems.
• Review incoming RFIs/Submittals and expedite responses.
• Review and comment on incoming vendor documents.
• Conduct walk downs with site representatives to verify proper installations.
• Responsible for development of structural steel supports, foundation systems, general arrangement diagrams, drainage plans and detail drawings.
• Participate and promote Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) work culture.
• Enforce EH&S regulations and adhere to current codes and standards.
• Participate in proposal preparation activities if required.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 2+ years of civil/ structural design experience
• Demonstrated ability to resolve construction and engineering issues

What Will Put You Ahead

• Gas treatment and/or natural gas structural design experience.
• Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of electrical, process, mechanical, HVAC and instrumentation industry standards.
• Familiar with NavisWorks, SAFE, RISA 3D and Foundation and Connection
