Job description:

The Claims Specialist is responsible for obtaining eligibility for new and existing patients. Responsible for working with our EMR system to resolve discrepancies and ensure patient care continues. Performance expectations are accuracy and timeliness of the billing department functions and special projects as assigned.

Maintains an on-going relationship with billing staff, professional and business support staff of the agency to ensure quality and process improvements.

Reports to: Team Leader/Supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic billing knowledge.
• Insurance experience within a healthcare setting.
• Medical Terminology
• Strong, organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with data processing systems and electronic billing preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks in fast paced demanding environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with Medicare / Medicaid a plus
• LPN a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
