SALAY RANGE: $25,505 to $54,042
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform skilled clerical work requiring a qualified typist; prepare and maintain records; serve as clerical support to the school assistant principals, guidance department, staff, and faculty.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:

- Serve as clerical support to the assistant principals.
- Perform school receptionist and telephone operator duties.
- Assist students and teachers.
- Prepare and maintain files and records.
- Meet and screen visitors, answer telephone and process mail.
- Maintain confidential information.
- Record daily attendance and call parents if a student is absent.
- Maintain records of excessive student absences and unexcused absences.
- Write absentee and tardy slips, issue passes.
- Make announcements on the public address system.
- Prepare and call in work orders and purchase orders when requested.
- Sort and distribute mail.
- Maintain calendars, demographics, and schedules.
- Prepare files and records for entering and withdrawing students.
- Respond to inquiries about programs, qualifications, test requirements, procedures and policies.
- Verify information for athletic eligibility.
- Maintain student files and respond to transcript requests.
- Maintain profiles, calendars, demographics, schedules, attendance and grade records on computer.
- Prepare files and records for entering and withdrawing students.
- Handle a variety of routine technical and administrative assignments.
- Operate standard office, word processing and data processing equipment.
- Compose and type letters and memoranda in conformance with school policies or from brief instructions.
- Setup and maintain office procedures and filing systems.
- Assist with scheduling substitutes and maintaining staff attendance records.
- Type letters and memos, reports, bulletins, agendas, schedules, manuals, student files and records.
- Handle a variety of routine technical and administrative assignments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment; general knowledge of school system routine and procedures; general knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to work under pressure; ability to organize and perform work independently; ability to type, ability to prepare and maintain computerized records and systems; ability to meet the public effectively.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/ GED. Considerable secretarial experience or an advanced secretarial
training certificate/degree. Knowledge of Munis and Power School software.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
