Reports to: Service Operations Manager Location: Westminster, CO
Wage Range: $35-40/hr+
Job Summary
Performs all functions of a Service Journeyman Technician. Partners with MTech Senior Sales Account Manager (SAM) as liaison between MTech dispatch to coordinate and schedule manpower and manage Shea’s portfolio of buildings in the Denver area. Time will be spent on billable repair work and management depending on the current needs of Shea Properties (Shea).
Essential Job Functions
  • Focus of job is to be the primary field single point of contact for Shea sites.
  • Direct daily MTech field activities on and for all subject Shea sites
    • Promote MTech Mechanical Technologies Group culture to team and clients.
  • Act as a liaison between Shea and MTech Mechanical Technologies Group.
  • Work with Shea’s onsite personnel daily to develop Client relationships.
  • Soft skills when interacting with Shea management and occupant clientele is critical. Objective must be a 5 star rating every day.
  • Help establish weekly goals with Shea and MTech personnel.
  • Organize and maintain T&M tasking for all sites. Provide weekly updates to Shea on status and ETA.
  • Promote time management skills to team techs.
  • Perform Diagnostic, PMs & T&M repairs.
  • Work with other Service Technicians on the team to provide overall best client approval rating.
  • Work side by side with MTech HVAC and Plumbing Service Technicians to ensure MTech quality and efficiency is maintained.
  • Monthly inspections of MTech onsite books and repairs performed by others.
  • Regular safety inspections as necessary.
  • Assist SAM with contract renewals.
  • Utilize tenant turnover lists to schedule and provide ongoing equipment replacement needs.
  • Assist with contract renewals.
    • Assist with T&M repair proposals.
    • Support teams with technical assistance/advise in the field that will result in quality service, client satisfaction and profit.
  • All paperwork must be done in the field at the job site.
  • Be proactive in helping generate policy and procedure.
  • Provide objective evaluation of team and team members' performance to Service Operations Manager.
  • Review man/hour reports with MTech/Shea team.
  • Coordinate with other operations groups to complete service projects involving them.
  • Keep workers informed on future schedules, planning and changes.
  • Keep Service Operations Manager informed of any problems related to personnel or to technical issues. For example:
    • Need for additional technical training.
    • Technician's dissatisfaction with management
    • Personal problems for which a technician might need counseling
    • Take responsibility for own learning and continuing education so that skill is "state of the art".
    • Keep client informed as to progress in resolving problem situations. See that clients are satisfied and generate more work.
    • Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy.
    • Promote time management skills to team techs.
    • Visit clients on a regular basis while team techs are on site.
      • Quality inspection of work performed by teams.
    • Support teams with technical assistance/advice.
      • Evaluate new products and tools and make recommendations for specific applications and report findings to Operations Manager.
      • Coordinate with other operations groups to complete service projects involving them.
    • Regular and predictable attendance is expected to meet the requirements of this position
Other duties as assigned: On call rotation as MOD, assist with small projects, assist on an as needed basis with Monday morning meeting and paperwork, assist with in house technical training Qualifications
  • High school diploma, technical school certificate or degree preferred
  • 5 years of Service Technician experience including a thorough understanding of business/industry practices, processes, & standards – plus meet all the requirements of a 4-year apprentice
  • Must be approved to drive per MTech’s driving standards
  • Thorough understanding of and respect for safety and OSHA rules & regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
  • Solid MS Office/Excel skills and willingness to learn new software programs.
