POSITION SUMMARY

Medical Assistant/LPN will perform the Intake portion of the patient exam, completing all of the required steps as outlined in the position performance standards, to include vital signs, medication and allergy review, social, family, and surgical history, as well as assessing the patients expressed symptoms or history and effectively relaying that information to the provider. In addition, the position will be assisting with in-office procedures to include procedure tray set-up, performing authorizations for imaging and other diagnostic studies, processing genetic test specimen collection, as well as supporting visiting specialty clinic physicians on a limited based schedule.

Additional tasks also include; chart prep, triage calls, results calls to patients, documentation of communication with patients and physicians, and other administrative assigned duties.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program or LPN program

Experience: Previous physician practice, family practice, clinic or hospital experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills required. Experience with computers, fax/copy machines, telephone etiquette, paging systems and database systems preferred.

Licenses/Certification: Certified Medical Assistant OR, LPN. Maintenance of current CPR or BLS.

Compensation: For LPN: $20.96 - $26.55/hr, depending on experience.

Compensation: For Medical Assistant: $17.00 - $19.55/hr, depending on experience.

Medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, and dependent care FSA: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following date of hire. PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
