The Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center Clinical and Translational Research Navigator is part of a multi-institutional team of Clinical and Translational Research Navigator and Community Research Navigators, reporting to the Rush Hub Research Capacity Leader. The Clinical and Translational Research Navigators will provide high-level assistance, counsel, and problem-solving resources to faculty and staff who seek the support and resources of the Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM), a federally-funded program. Navigators will rely on broad clinical and translational knowledge and experience to quickly respond to questions and requests for assistance from anyone at an ITM-related institution, and provide expert guidance and connection to the necessary tools and resources. This role serves the as a single point of contact at Rush University, for investigators and research staff at all ITM institutions who need information and resources to initiate or execute their clinical or translational research studies. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide a single point of contact for investigators and research staff.
- Provide high-level assistance, counsel, and problem-solving advice to faculty and staff who seek the support or resources of the ITM.
- Partner with clinical and translational leaders at local institution to disseminate information about the ITM and identify opportunities to help.
- Develop study-startup and implementation tools and resources both for use by all investigators but also those specifically needed at local institution.
- Train local staff on use of various tools and resources, as needed.
- Develop an understanding of all ITM programs and services and how to access them and connect investigators and staff to these as applicable.
- Collaborate with ITM communications staff to development messaging/materials.
- In collaboration with the Principal Navigator and ITM Evaluator, design quality initiatives aligned with navigator program as a whole and ITM.
- Maintain metrics and data needed to assess impact of program.
- Analyzes, facilitates and participates in the daily activities of multiple moderately complex clinical trials and performs all aspects of clinical data management, including patient data retrieval, referring MD office records, preparing clinical research charts, and participation in program audits.
- Troubleshoots and resolves day-to-day problems relating to the administration of the compliance, financial and other related aspects of a clinical study.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.
- 2 years of experience in related job discipline required
- Must be an experienced research professional with broad and deep knowledge of the key domains of clinical and translational research: start-up, regulatory, operational, compliance and community engagement/participation matters.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, critical decision makings and professional judgement.
- Strong verbal and written communication with ability to communicate complex concepts to multiple audiences
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary team settings.
- Ability to advocate for high-quality, ethical, safe, and feasible research projects, and to foster an atmosphere of accountability, all while maintaining the amicable, energetic engagement of the entire research team is necessary.
- The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, collegial individual who is able to positively interact with a broad range of inquirers and collaborators, communicating with tact and precision.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Experience in a breadth of study types-data collection (interventional, observational, repository, community based, investigator initiated) strongly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of current federal grant funding and/or FDA regulations and guidelines strongly preferred
- Clinical research experience in a range of areas: study start-up, regulatory, conduct, data management, finance, operations, and compliance, strongly preferred.
- ACRP/SoCRA certification, desired
