Position Overview: The Clinic Director works in the capacity of a physical therapist while directing and overseeing the entire office to ensure appropriate and efficient operation. This position will require you to take ownership and accountability for your assigned location. You will support all employees in the office to ensure full adherence with Excel Orthopedic Physical Therapy’s standards of care and policies and procedures handbook.


Qualifications:

  • Active Physical Therapy license issued by the state of New Jersey
  • Graduate of an APTA Accredited Physical Therapy Program


Essential Job Function:

  • Examination and evaluation of patients referred to Excel Orthopedic PhysicalTherapy
  • Development of customized plans of treatment and patient-specific goals for each patient, dependent upon physical therapy needs, including appropriate progressions to plans of care
  • When appropriate, implementation of physician-directed protocols for indicated diagnoses
  • Participation in the planning and execution of POC reviews, patient case review conferences, patient assessment, and reassessment
  • Use evidence-based clinical interventions to maximize functional outcomes for patients
  • Provide hours of patient care (scheduled treatment hours) Monday–Friday, in accordance with the contract
  • Compliance with HIPAA rules & regulations
  • Maintain ethical behavior according to the APTA and NJ Practice Act
  • Manage day to day operations of the individual clinic
  • Assure physical therapy quality services by maintaining a departmental assurance program, including monitoring of quality indicators, documenting actions taken to resolve problems, and report to upper-level managements
  • Review paperwork and documentation of all physical therapist’s in their office
  • Track and approve PT time off/CEU requests through Zenefits
  • Approve Aide hours through Zenefits
  • Ensure PTs are utilizing In-House Education opportunities
  • Complete weekly Clinic Manager’s log
  • Coordinating PT staff time off so that it does not negatively impact patient care
  • Focus on Clinic Manager Metrics
  • Units per visit
  • The average charge per visit
  • Denials/Appeal Requests
  • Prescription expirations/Progress Notes being completed
  • Organize and run a weekly Journal Club
  • Ensure Survey Gizmo is being completed
  • Review Unscheduled Patient Tracker
  • Coordinate Coli Construction emails and work logs
  • Train and mentor new hires, specifically physical therapists
  • Participate in aide management (i.e., PT on the floor at all times, send aides home if not needed, cueing issues)
  • Assist with marketing strategies to ensure your clinic is successful
  • Take appropriate actions to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
  • Mentor staff physical therapists
  • Create a fun and engaging working environment
  • Coach, develop, and hold employees accountable for upholding Excel Orthopedic Physical Therapy’s standards of care.
  • Motivate and encourage staff; lead by example in every aspect of the clinic
  • Make sure every patient is happy, receives excellent care, and would recommend us to family and friends
  • Participate in Excel sponsored activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned


WORKING CONDITIONS:
A private clinic consisting of both a gym floor and office environment. This position requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing & reaching. As well as the ability, to travel to multiple Excel Physical Therapy locations to cover shifts, attend in-service sessions, community outreach, and sponsored events.

PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY: Consistent with published industry PDC norms or minimally:

  • Requires the manual dexterity and general strength and endurance
  • Lifting—routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from
    • Floor to waist
    • Waist to shoulder
    • Shoulder to overhead
  • Carrying—routinely loads of 5-10# for 40-50’
  • Pushing-routinely loads of 5-150# on casters, runners or pulleys
  • Sustaining a grip-routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50#
  • Guarding a “lift load” routinely of 120-140#

EXPOSURE DETERMINATION:

  • Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure
  • Has the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure
