Overview:
Desert Choice Schools is looking for a Clinical Fellow for our location in Casa Grande, for 2022/2023 school year.

Travel between campuses might be needed. Mileage is paid.

You need to have a Master's Degree as a School Psychologist or CSW/MFT/PC to qualify for this position. The Clinical Fellow position does not require you to be licensed, with supervision offered.

Desert Choice Schools utilizes a highly-structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program that teaches students Academic, Social/Emotional Problem-Solving and Strategies. All DCS teachers and support staff are trained in a unique methodology that assists students with maintaining Positive Choice-Making. Responsibilities:
The Clinical Fellow will be a part of a team that works with students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs providing counseling, training, therapeutic interventions, de-escalation, pre-crisis, and post crisis interventions.

This position is supported by a therapeutic day school program.
The Clinical Fellow is directly supervised and clinically supported by a Clinical Specialist or BCBA.
This position may coincide with supervised hours for obtaining professional licensure or certification, though that does not have to be the case.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in any area of mental health/counseling/Applied Behavior Analysis.
Does not currently possess professional licensure or certification.
Is not licensed/certified to provide clinical services independently within a school setting.

Includes, but is not limited to individuals accruing practicum or internship hours towards:

  • Licensed/Limited Licensed Professional Counselor
  • School Psychologist Certification
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst

  • Experience working with students with emotional and/or behavioral challenges

The Clinical Fellow will be responsible, with appropriate supervision, to

o attend IEP and MET meetings,
o provide input to IEPs and METs as appropriate
o develop, collaborate, and implement interventions for students,
o Provide counseling per students' IEPs,
o provide parent training,
o providing assistance to parents in accessing outside resources for their child.
o maintain appropriate documentation and record-keeping
o document and report student progress
o use data-based decision making and use of clinically supported interventions
o attend professional development meetings
o assist in conducting professional development meetings

Certifications/Licensures

  • Current Arizona "IVP" DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
  • PCMA Certification (Learn provides certification; required).
