ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. Collects and maintains appropriate documentation related to clinical education, such as health forms, CPR certification, student evaluations and site evaluations.

Plans and coordinates faculty and students’ clinical site orientations and Live Scan appointments.

Plans, coordinates, and manages faculty and students’ assignments to clinical facilities.

Identifies clinical sites which support the student clinical requirements. Maintains accurate clinical site information database, including contact information and specific contractual agreement termination and expiration dates.

Establishes and maintains communication lines between the clinical facilities, staff and American Career College.

Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student assignment in each clinical area.

Works with clinical affiliate staff to clarify policies and procedures specific to facility.

Assists with clinical clearance of students.

Adheres to College policies and procedures and acts as a role model to all staff and students through guidance and example.

Maintains regular and timely attendance, reports to work as scheduled and assures time worked and/or time-off is recorded properly.

Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the College’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Compliance Agreement, Sexual Harassment Policy or any of its policies and procedures, applicable federal and states laws, and applicable professional standards.

Maintains established department policies, procedures and attends in-services and other required meetings.

Maintains confidentiality of all student, associate, and/or college information as required.

Exercises care, proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies and identifies unsafe conditions and makes appropriate adjustments.

Maintains order, cleanliness and safety at work.

May perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Minimum of an associate degree with the appropriate coursework in the subject area required. Bachelors degree in the healthcare field preferred.

Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or the subject area in which they teach.

Must demonstrate training in educational methods, testing and evaluation and evidence strength in instructional methodology, delivery and techniques as indicated by evaluation personnel within 30 days of beginning instruction.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified in the field of Surgical Technology through a national credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Must hold the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, if hired after July 1, 2010.

Current CPR Card.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

Must have a minimum of three (3) years of operating room experience or three (3) years of teaching experience in the field, or a combination of the two, within the last five (5) years.

Must have a minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or demonstrate prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or any comparable training program or formal in-house training program.

Experience with MS Office.
