Overview

The IT Division’s Data Management Office is looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer, who will report to a manager and work with a team of data architects, database administrators, and data engineers to build and maintain reusable AWS IaC templates and data pipelines. Your work will support multiple application development teams operating in the AWS cloud. Additionally, you will assist our DevSecOp teams to build CI/CD pipelines to support application development teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions for AWS database infrastructure and data pipelines.
  • Work with engineering and data teams to deliver solutions that satisfy business and technical requirements
  • Support implementation of CI/CD tools to help application delivery teams accelerate their software delivery.
  • Use Agile methodologies to iteratively improve the platform offerings and adapt to the changing needs of our users.
  • Apply FinOps best practices to optimize operational performance and infrastructure costs.
  • Keep current on latest cloud services and best practices to help foster a learning culture with coworkers.
Qualifications
  • Experience designing and building AWS Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to support cloud databases and data services is required. (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Experience building AWS data services is preferred. (RDS, RedShift, Glue, etc.)
  • Experience using CI/CD pipelines is required (GitLab, Git/Bitbucket, Bamboo, Maven, Nexus, Fortify)
  • Experience scripting and using AWS Lambda is required. (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript)
  • Proficient in Agile development practices is required.
  • Familiarity with FinOps principles, observability platforms, data encryption and zero-trust architectures is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an information technology field, or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of progressive information technology experience related to all aspects of cloud solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with government entities is preferred.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower grade.
