Med/Surg Department

General Description;

Assist the Professional Nursing Staff by performing duties in caring for patients at Warm Springs Medical Center. Works under the supervision of professional nurses; demonstrates knowledge of procedures and techniques in administering simple treatments and providing beside resident care service. Responsible to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and facility policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

ÿ Attends staff meetings/in-service education 80% of the time as required for job performance.

ÿ Completes continuing education hours as evidenced by education records including Health Stream.

ÿ Assist with implementation of patient plan of care

ÿ Assure physical safety and comfort of all patients

ÿ Observe and report symptoms, reactions, and changes of patients

ÿ Assist in daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment of residents, such as toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, care of hair and nails, responding to all.

ÿ Ensure patient privacy, respect and dignity

ÿ Measure and record vital signs, intake and output

ÿ Routinely turn and position patients

ÿ Answer patient call lights

ÿ Treat all patients with respect and ensure maintenance of dignity

Nursing Home

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the RN Supervisor or LPN Unit Charge Nurse and the direct supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant provides a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for assigned residents.

III. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A. High school graduate or equivalent with documented competency in providing basic nursing care in accordance with competency inventory.

B. Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in Georgia.

C. Current verification of competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

D. Previous experience in hospital/nursing home patient care setting preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
