Press Brake Operator

Job Summary

Ashland Technologies Inc., is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Press Brake Operator. The roll will include the setup, operation and maintenance of 3 CNC precision press brakes, and will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining compliance to customer drawings/specifications within the Fabrication department. Starting rate is $21.00 per hour, but negotiable based on previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Report to and take direction from Production Manager.
• Program and maintain multiple CNC press brakes and tooling library.
• Write, edit and correct programs to manufacture parts per drawings.
• Responsible for maintaining program file directory.
• Responsible for identifying dimensions and associated tolerances for manufacturing a formed part.
• Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance and quality.
• Able to identify tooling defects and perform routine tooling maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance on the press brake.
• Perform any other assigned, related duties.

Requirements/Qualifications

• 5 years of previous CNC press brake programming and operation required.
• Pervious metal fabrication experience required.
• PSMO certification (or equivalent) a plus, but not required.
• Previous experience with forklift operation (certification can completed on the job).
• Ability to read and interpret sheet metal part drawings.
• Ability to use and read various measuring instruments.
• Ability to select the proper tooling for the job/task.
• Basic math skills. Knowledge of sheet metal mathematics a plus.
• Knowledge of laser cutting, shearing, tube bending and rolling a plus.
• Ability to listen, follow directions, and learn shop practices and procedures.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail.
• Must work well with others, have a “team player” attitude.
• Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally, with co-workers and management.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Lift and carry objects up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
• Must wear required hearing, eye protection, and safety shoes/boots.
