Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery is looking for a new Cocktail Server! We have over 800 hard-working and passionate employees throughout our many properties. Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Cocktail Server is to ensure complete customer satisfaction by serving and providing beverages to our guests to ensure an enjoyable stay

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Work requires 6 months of Cocktail Server experience and model experience preferred.
• Effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner is required.
• Must present a neat and professional appearance.
• Work requires interactions and teamwork with customers, public and co-workers.
• Work requires ability to accurately count money and provide change.
• Work requires knowledge of tray service and cocktail ingredients.
• Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Having a working knowledge of the casino environment and how the compensation process works.

Essential Functions

• Provides fast (20 minute or less round time), friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests; carries full trays on every round.
• Takes drink orders, communicates with bartender, assists in the preparation of drinks and presents drinks to guests.
• Serves beverages to patrons at the 21 Pit games, gaming machines or in the lounge. May also take orders for and serve meals.
• Computes bill and accepts payment according to procedure.
• Closes all transactions on the Micros system according to company policies and turns in appropriate monies and reports.
• Must request identification from customers when legal age is questioned.
• Maintains clean and stocked workstation.
• Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines.
• Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appears in publicity photos.
• Promotes casino events and programs.
• Works closely with Total Rewards Center to promote new card sign up programs.
• Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, barbacks, beverage supervisor, and slots supervisor.
• Provides personalized service and uses guest name.
• Resolves service problems according to guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant public interaction.
• Must be able to stand or walk for an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to stoop, bend and lift up to 30 pounds and be able to carry a full tray of drinks for an 8-hour period.
• Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
