Job Title: Command Post Dispatcher
Department: Operations
Reports To: Branch Manager, Area Directors and Event Managers
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Supervises Others: Yes

General Description:
A Command Post Specialist manages and performs activities within command post (CP) operations centers or command centers. Generally, CP specialists provides command, control, communications, and information support to and for, multiple agency partners. The CP specialists receives and relays command and control instructions to other staff members or agencies.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate organization, staffing, and operational activities for CSC
  • Participate in the development and implementation of event operations and decisions.
  • Provide centralized communications.
  • Serve as a liaison between outside entities.
  • Maintain event records and logs throughout the entirety of event.
  • Communicate general event announcements.
  • Maintains and initiates quick reaction checklists.
  • Communication and coordination with first responders and the client.
  • Pre-event coordination.
  • Common event timeline (detailed).
  • Stage and test CP equipment (varies by venue).
  • Operates and manages voice/data, and/or CCTVor venues surveillance tools.
  • Communications equipment (Radios or other comm tools).
  • Update forms, references, login information.
  • Review team/ asset deployment plan.
  • Post events debrief.

Command Operations:
  • Establishes specific strategies to accomplish the goals and objectives set by command.
  • Coordinates and executes strategy and tactics to achieve response objectives.
  • Control of the incoming radio traffic.
  • CP specialist must provide clear and calm communications to all CSC Staff.
  • All Radio Traffic should filter through Command Post.

Planning:
  • Coordinates support activities for incident planning as well as contingency, long range, and demobilization planning
  • Supports command and operations in processing incident information.
  • Coordinate's information activities across a venue’s response system (ISS)
  • Establishes a centralized communications platform to answer and relay pertinent information.
  • i.e., redeploys, conducting roll call.

Logistics:
  • Supports command operations and the use of personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Performs technical activities required to maintain functional operations of facilities and processes.
  • i.e., working with emergency responders to verify weather conditions at time of the event. Will staff need to be redeployed with rain ponchos or other weather assistive gear.

Administration:
  • Supports command operations with administrative support and incident tracking and reporting.
  • Establishing sensible routes of relief and elimination of personnel to save client expenses.
  • i.e., communicating with the client or event Manger on if/when redeployment of other staff to key areas will be made. Command post serves as the hub of communication that defers the redeployment plan on the staff.
