Commerce Associate Editorial Director, Health.com and Parents
Job description
Health and Parents is looking for an Associate Editorial Director to join the Commerce team to help grow revenue and our audience. Applicants may have a health background with an interest in parenting, parenting background with an interest in health, or experience in both verticals. This role reports to a Senior Director and works with the Growth/SEO and Editorial teams to manage and create the content strategy for our shopping content around news and deals, plus maintaining the content pipeline. This person will work to ensure our articles are accurate, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible.
About the role:
Drive editorial commerce news/deals strategy.
Assign, edit, write, and publish content that is relevant to Health and Parents.
Manage and source freelance writers with relevant backgrounds, and grow the PAR/HT teams to support the needs of the business.
Prioritize day-to-day needs alongside special projects, and support your team’s goals, while also taking into account organizational priorities and changes.
Analyze revenue and make both editorial and data-driven decisions based on your knowledge.
Stay up-to-date on trends and topics in the vertical and use SEO tools and industry knowledge to help strategize next steps.
Collaborate with and manage expectations of the commerce, editorial, growth, and social teams, including potential to contribute to shopping newsletters.
Communicate effectively throughout the organization on your team’s goals and objectives.
Assist with content strategy and execution around key tentpole events such as Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and various campaigns
About you:
5 to 7 years of editing experience at a digital-focused publisher
5+ years working in the commerce and affiliate industry
Experience with SEO best practices and tools and how it relates to content
Background with home content preferred
Experience working in Skimlinks, Amazon Associates, and pulling revenue numbers
Strong communication and organizational skills
Management experience
Proficiency in project management tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or Asana
A track record of growth in your past roles
Experience scaling copy and editorial operations in a high-growth environment
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs, all the while keeping a pre-defined voice in mind
