The purpose of this position is to oversee the day-to-day functions of Community and Adolescent Health violence prevention activities in coordination with the Public Health Division's chronic disease prevention and health promotion programs. Key responsibilities include: project management, program development, and grants management; including: budget/contract development and oversight; staff leadership and team management; developing joint ventures via internal/external stakeholders/ community engagement; representing the program and the County to a variety of constituents; and serving as a subject matter expert.
This position is currently in a hybrid telework environment, working both in person and remotely. In-person work occurs predominantly in the community for events, trainings, community meetings, etc., with this position's office space at the Gateway Children's Center Service Building located off 102nd and E Burnside. Schedule is Monday- Friday, 9am-5:30pm with some evenings and weekends as needed to meet community needs.
As the Program Supervisor, you will:

Manage strategic programs and projects related to reducing youth and community violence and health disparities in Multnomah County
-
Manage and/or participate in multi-sectoral coalitions to develop policies and systems changes for Community and Adolescent Health in Multnomah County

Oversee implementation of a variety of internal and community facing projects, and help to ensure Community and Adolescent Health Program work is delivered in an trauma informed manner that is accessible and inclusive

Provide day-to-day supervision to a diverse team of staff, including prioritize workload, develop work plan, provide ongoing coaching/ mentoring in regular 1:1 check ins, coordination and facilitation of key project and team meetings

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to implement key grant activities and programs, in line with department goals

Possess the ability to effectively supervise, guide, coach and direct staff

Provide high levels of technical assistance and consultation to the Community and Adolescent Health program, internal organization staff, external community partner agencies, and other stakeholder networks; including local, state, and regional government

Develop program budget and oversee existing and potential funding, including monitoring and tracking invoices and expenses.

Participate in contract development and selection, including developing program elements contained in community requests for proposals, notices of intent, contractor selection and negotiating contract statements of work

Represent the County and assigned programs to the public, elected officials, other agencies, government jurisdictions, the news media, committees and organizations when called upon to do so

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as noted below. All non-traditional education,training and experience will be evaluated.

Education/Training: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree AND

Experience: Three (3) to six (6) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

Valid driver’s license/ability to obtain one

Knowledge and experience working with communities in Multnomah County who experience higher rates of health disparities and/or are impacted by violence

Project management experience

Experience developing and facilitating community connection, engagement and partnerships within Multnomah County

Demonstrated knowledge of the social determinants of health, and root causes of violence.

Knowledge of grassroots leaders, community systems and community agencies that are working to prevent violence
-
Strong written, networking and verbal communication skills (may be asked to submit a writing sample)
