Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Associates Degree or 10 years of applicable work experience acceptable. High School required.

Five (5) years of experience with community outreach, program management, and/or nonprofit. Strong Internet research skills. High proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), using Content Management System for web portal, social media mediums, E-mail Marketing programs (MailChimp, Constant Contact). Desktop publishing and/or graphical design experience a plus.

Specific License or Certification Required: Valid State of Georgia's License
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Example of Duties

Essential Functions:


Manage community relations for South Fulton, SW Atlanta, East Point, Union City, and College Park.

Direct all constituents' services issues to appropriate Fulton County departments or municipalities.

Foster strong and strategic relationships with key stakeholders in District 5 southwestern region.

Attend monthly community meetings/events and share important Fulton County information and gather information from meetings. Complete Event Summaries and submit to Chief of Staff.

Event planning to include: annual D5 events, D5 sponsored events, quarterly District Dialogues town halls for East Point and South Fulton.

Develop and maintain point-of-contact persons for schools, senior centers, and other community stakeholders to stay informed of upcoming events and important information.

Visit senior centers at least once a month. (HJC Bowden Senior Center, QLS).

Increase D5 southern region's residents' knowledge and awareness of initiatives and programs Fulton County offers.

Attend special events (e.g. breakfasts, luncheons, conferences,...) on behalf of Commissioner when needed.

Attend events with Commissioner in SW region. Check-in on social media, tag

Commissioner and Chief of Staff, and take pictures to post at event.

May substitute for Community Engagement Rep. SE when needed.

Provide Monthly Progress Report to Chief of Staff.

Must present info in presentations, spreadsheets, and documents.

Will require attendance to community events during evening and weekend and special D5 events.

Will execute all other special tasks assigned by Commissioner and Chief of Staff.

Reports directly to Chief of Staff.

Minimum Qualifications

SKILLS:
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
Project coordination and event management experience preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail and active listening skills. Must be able to problem-solve and troubleshoot. Works well independently in a dynamic team environment as will with constituents and vendors. Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
