Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Auditor will be responsible for assessing and monitoring our farms for compliance to both rigorous Vital Farms standards and external regulatory agencies. Location of this position is in the southeast Missouri, northeast Arkansas, southern Illinois, and southwest Kentucky area. The Compliance Auditor will be exceedingly thorough in their processes and provide meaningful and actionable feedback to our growers to enhance each farm's ability to achieve excellence. The location and service area for this role is Northeast Arkansas. Travel is required.

What You'll Do

  • Schedule and conduct regular audits and participate in third-party audits of each farm and each farm's practices to ensure Vital Farms' standards and pasture-raised practices are maintained on each of our small family farms.
  • Develop close professional working relationships with our farmers to support their learning and development in the importance of active farm management.
  • Collaborate with farmers to assist them with audit preparation activities, including collecting appropriate documentation and determining optimal scheduling.
  • Listen to farmer needs and concerns and diplomatically solve challenges.
  • Collaborate and maintain close contact with the Compliance crew to share best practices and provide support

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of professional experience in farming/agriculture
  • Farm compliance knowledge
  • Basic understanding of FDA regulation
  • Auditing knowledge and experience
  • Professional communication skills
  • Analytical capabilities with the skillset to generate insight from data
  • Goal setting; internally motivated
  • Highly organized and autonomous
  • Transparent mindset towards open communication with all stakeholders, including team members, growers, and certifying bodies
  • Ability to manage significant travel, with considerable driving and occasional overnight trips.
