Job description
Primary PurposeInspects and monitors construction contractors to ensure that work is completed in accordance with the contract documents. Physically monitor service and meter relocation projects. Acts as a liaison between the Company, contractors, customers, and local officials.
Duties and Responsibilities

Physically inspect the installation of gas pipelines, meter relocation and welding to ensure that the project is completed according to all design specs and standards. Evaluates contractors’ performance. Monitors contractors' work methods, construction procedures, materials utilized and adherence to schedules.

Solves problems in a timely and decisive manner to ensure quality, safety and compliance on the worksite and to ensure project success.
*
On behalf of the Company, coordinates between the Company and the contractors, customers, and local officials as related to submittals, schedules, permitting, material requirements, change orders, environmental issues, local jurisdiction issues, invoices, engineering designs, etc.

Attends pre-bid, pre-construction and progress meetings as appropriate and may provide recommendations based on local jurisdiction and gas pipeline construction knowledge.

Documents job progress, labor, equipment and material used on a daily basis. Reviews invoices from contractors and submits to manager for approval.
*
Negotiates and documents approved changes with general foreman in an approved format.
*
Requires a minimum of a high school diploma. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
*
A minimum of five years of gas pipeline construction experience is required.
*
Must have basic accounting and cost control knowledge.
*
Must possess oral and written communication skills to interface with local jurisdictions.
*
Must possess knowledge of construction techniques with the ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
*
Must be knowledgeable of construction procedures, standards, material and equipment.
*
Requires strong analytical, judgment and administrative skills.
*
CA driver’s license required to drive between job sites.
*
DOT safety sensitive. Subject to random drug testing
*
Must have passed or pass the required management training; Weld Inspection and Strength Testing

Frequent to constant walking and standing on a job site

Will have to drive between job sites on a daily basis.
