This position will Plan, direct, and coordinate activities pertaining to the construction, renovation, and maintenance of the Fast Park portfolio including existing parking lots, facility expansions and brown-field development, and assist with the Park Place portfolio as required.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Review shop drawings and submittals. Coordinate technical reviews with engineers and architects.
  • Evaluate the work being done on a daily basis by the contractors for compliance with the plans and specifications and ensure that an accurate set of records and documents are maintained pertinent to all construction-related activities.
  • Schedule and assist with running pre-construction and job meetings. Prepare meeting minutes and distribute to all parties.
  • Review, recommend and ensure adherence of Contractors to their schedules.
  • Pre-review and recommend action on Contractor Pay Requests.
  • Create, maintain and manage Contractor punch lists.
  • Help close-out projects by gathering warranties, as-builts, project binders, lien releases, permit copies, etc.
  • Assist with evaluating Contractor issues relative to the interpretation of plans and specifications and coordinate efforts to resolve with the Owner and respective consultants.
  • Recommend acceptance or rejection of work in whole or in part due to compliance or non-compliance with the plans and specifications.
  • Assist with change request specifications, pricing review and documentation.
  • Maintain project files, records and project management reports.
  • Ensure work meets approved budget, contract terms, and adherence by all parties.
  • Regularly communicate project progress and costs with all parties involved.
  • Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met in construction.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Associates degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering preferred
  • Construction Manager certification by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience

  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Understanding of all facets of the design, bid and construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Desire and drive to be proactive and take ownership of the team and processes
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Able to work as part of a large project team and interact effectively with others at all levels of the organization
  • A self-starter, versatile and adept at functioning in a small department in either a lead or support role
  • Thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented
  • Read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Pleasant with others, good-natured, cooperative attitude
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the spelling and meaning of words


Travel:
Travel is within the U.S., including overnight travel, and is expected 65%-75% of the time.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements
: Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May be exposed to construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. This position is performed inside as well as outside weather conditions. Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
