Consumer Services Supervisor - Intake
The Organization
North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
Supervision
Receives supervision from Consumer Services Managers, provides general supervision to Consumer Services Coordinators - Intake, Service Coordinator Associates, Support staff and other assigned staff.
Responsible for ensuring delivery of quality information and services in assigned unit.
The Position and Job Summary
- Assigns, reviews and approves work of unit staff members. Advises staff on resolution of complex service issues
- Represents the unit and/or company in dealings with service providers, other community and governmental agencies, community groups
- Hires, trains, directs and evaluates unit staff
- Provides intra- and inter-departmental leadership in intake eligibility and service planning and provision, participates in company management team, may serve as staff support for Board of Trustees’ committees and may be assigned to serve as senior staff in supervisor’s absence
Employment Standards
A Master’s degree in a related field plus 3 years of related professional experience.
COMPETENCIES
Early Start Program, Developmental disabilities; Regional Center (or related company) practices; computer usage; management and supervisory principles and practices.
A valid California Driver’s License and transportation, or acceptable substitute, required for this position.
Essential Requirements
Service coordination is a community-based position that requires meeting with individuals served and their families in their homes, in the community, or in our office location. Must be comfortable working with a high degree of independence. Frequent telephone, virtual, and out-of-office meetings required. Valid California Driver’s License and reliable and transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.
