Position Purpose
The controller will oversee the accounting and financial activities and reporting of FCB under the direction of the CFO. They will maintain a strong internal control environment, manage the day-to-day accounting responsibilities, and assist the CFO in helping FCB succeed. They will manage, train, and mentor the team members in following departments: wire, accounts payable, and general ledger.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends
- Ensure SOX controls are implemented and operating effectively
- Manage month-, quarter-, and year-end processes and reporting
- Manage accounts payable, wire, and GL functions and personnel
- Prepare and review G/L and Bancontrolled account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual templates for Corporate
- Prepare KPI reporting to employees
- Assist the CFO in preparing the annual budget
- Assist the CFO in the preparation of the Division’s Asset/Liability Committee reports
- Comply with all Division policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Division Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
- Complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date
- Keep abreast and assist in complying with all state and federal banking regulations that relate to Financial Reporting, Risk Management, and Accounting
- Set expectations, provide training and resources, measure performance and provide feedback to direct reports
- Meet one-on-one on a regular basis at least twice a month with each direct report
- Help direct reports with their career goals and professional development
- Provide strategic vision and ongoing improvements to the accounting department’s processes and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers
About You:
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Required Knowledge / Skills: Understanding of financial and accounting practices, procedures, and regulations. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Comprehensive knowledge, the ability to implement and monitor controls. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Experience Required: Ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
