Position Details:
Cook for Assisted Living Facility
PRN, As Needed, Rotating Schedule. May include weekends and holidays.
Non-Exempt, Hourly, Non-Union
Position Summary:
Cook will work with the licensed nurse and other team members to include cooking, meal service, laundry, housekeeping, and activity related services to the Residents. Responsible for assisting CNA or Caregiver with approved non-nursing activities per OAR, Chapter 411, Division 86. Hospitality Aide assists in providing a safe and comfortable environment for the Resident, maintaining dignity, privacy and Resident rights. Hospitality Aide will perform the Essential Functions and meet all job requirements for any assignment throughout Nursing Home and/or ALF.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Must be willing to obtain/maintain Food Handler's Certification.
Experience:
Prior Food Service experience preferred.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
Proper use of kitchen appliances and cooking techniques. Proper use of cleaning materials.
Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of a licensed nurse or designee, the Cook may only provide services that do not require a license or certification to perform.
Tasks associated with dietary responsibilities:
Cooking, Food preparation, Food service, Inventory and ordering, Documenting food temperatures, Cleaning counter tops, Cleaning tables, Setting tables for all meals, Clean and dispose of expired food in refrigerator, Cupboard/drawer cleaning.
Tasks associated with maintaining environment and resident safety:
Clean spills, Maintain clear pathways for residents and staff, Apply standard safety precautions, Use proper hand washing techniques, Report signs of abuse, neglect mistreatment, misappropriation or exploitation of our residents, Demonstrate respect for rights and property of residents and coworkers, Maintains resident confidentiality.
