- Education: high school diploma/GED required
- Experience: 0-1 year general work experience

Job Duties:
1. Follows recipes and production sheets, as written, and informs Manager/Supervisor of
any adjustments that are made; documents adjustments on production sheets.
2. Prepares pan garnishes for “front of the house” operations.
3. Sets up steam tables on time and organizes them according to diagrams to avoid
delays on tray line; this includes “specials”; reviews all food items on steam tables
with Supervisor.
4. Ensures that all hot food temperatures are at least 165 degrees for entrees, starches
and vegetables. Monitors temperatures throughout the meal service.
5. Ensures that all wells are covered with a lid until serving time.
6. Batch cooks items ensuring optimal food quality; i.e. scrambled eggs, French-fries,
vegetables, etc.
7. Follows “counts” designated on production sheets, avoiding “overproduction”.
8. Monitors leftovers including properly stores/utilizes them and consistently documents
the amount of leftovers.
9. Informs Supervisor/Manager when specific food/supplies are low and need to be
ordered.
10. Provides Storekeeper with an accurate and up to date “pull list” of frozen items;
ensures items are pulled from freezer at least 48 hours prior to serving time.
11. Responds in a prompt, courteous manner to any questions or concerns.
12. Attends departmental meetings in an alert and courteous manner and applies
knowledge gained.
13. Maintains work area in a clean, safe and professional manner.
14. Ensures kitchen sanitation standards are maintained per departmental and regulatory
agency policies and procedures at all times.
15. Follows established safety regulations, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking
regulations, infection control, MSDS, hand washing procedures, etc.
16. Monitors temperatures of kitchen refrigerators. Takes appropriate action when
required.
17. Ensures food and refrigerator temperatures are taken and recorded per departmental
and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
18. Completes incident reports thoroughly and in a timely manner.
19. Adheres to Standards of Attendance.
20. Performs other duties, as assigned.
