Job Descriptions

The Kitchen Assistant / Cook reports to the Kitchen Manger of BeeHive Homes of Lakeville. The Kitchen Assistant / Cook is responsible for carrying out the primary duties as outlined by the Kitchen Manager These essential functions include, but are not limited to:

· Coordinate and prepare attractive, nutritious, and tasty meals for residents, families, and staff, following established menus, regulations, established policies, procedures and best practices.

· Must be knowledgeable of food services practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing food services functions in Assisted Living. (Education provided)

· Assist in maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the Nutrition & Culinary Services Department.

· Process diet changes and new diets as well as ensure proper nutritional and specific specialty diets are followed.

· Must possess customer service skills and professional appearance and responsiveness to all we serve.

· Must have a desire to serve and energy for creativity and a love for cooking and good food.

· Experience with cooking following recipes.

Job Requirement

· Must possess a high school or equivalent education.

· Must have a love for cooking.

· Must enjoy working with Seniors.

· Must be Food Serve Safe certified and/ or willing to attend training.

· Demonstrated compatibility with Beehive’s mission and desire to serve.

· Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
