The Outreach Coordinator in the College of Engineering will plan, implement, conduct, and assess outreach programs designed to increase and retain partnerships and enhance awareness in each of the COE majors related to engineering, computing, and construction. This position will be responsible for implementing creative outreach/engagement and partnership strategies related to K-12 outreach and education efforts including hosting programs on campus and visiting schools in the surrounding area of the Lincoln and Omaha area of the engineering campuses. Strong relationship building skills is important for this position as it will reach out to various constituencies such as guidance counselors, science and math teachers, and community partners. Develop and train engineering student ambassadors to learn and develop presentations that will be engaging for K-12 audiences to promote the opportunities and impact of engineering Host various groups on campus and schedule visits in schools for engineering ambassador groups. Additional activities may include webinars, professional conference exhibits, partner symposiums, campus events, or strategic business development activities. This person will serve as the first point of contact for all outreach related activities and will also assist with various recruitment activities and both on and off campus. As the college works to grow enrollment and diversify our student populations various efforts will be required to help increase women and underrepresented students. Some nights and weekends will be required, but flexible scheduling is available to accommodate extra hours.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus six months of experience related to education, communication, or student affairs. High level of professionalism and commitment to teamwork essential. Must have demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to relate to people of all age groups, academic abilities and cultures required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in teaching/education preferred.

Posted Salary $43,000/year minimum
