This position will play an important role in driving all corporate communications for the organization, both
internally as well as externally. This position will contribute to building an inspiring picture of the
company and celebrate the current success stories of our associates through newsletters, social media,
the Diversity & Inclusion Council, Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, and various wellness initiatives.

What is a day in the life at Flagship as a Corporate Communications Specialist?
- Design and launch internal communications by email and video
- Create content for communications tools such as company newsletters, executive bios, blog posts, and associate spotlights. Copyedit, proofread, and revise all such communications
- Working at various levels across the organization gathers information for, writes, and edits stories
for assigned topics, ensuring that all communication is accurate, clear, approved as needed, and
meets Flagship’s brand and company culture standards - Gathers feedback from associates to determine communication needs and effectiveness using
various methods, including Climate Surveys - Assist the HR Benefits Team with monthly wellness initiatives and contests, including quarterly activity challenges
- Assist HR Talent Development with creating and sending internal communications, and distributing prizes
- Assist the Diversity & Inclusion Council with internal communications as needed
- Oversee and coordinate VTO initiatives across all sites
- Work with HR to coordinate and assist with appreciation days and celebrations
- Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment
by understanding and complying with the company’s policies
- Required: BA/BS Degree; AA/AS degree with equivalent experience acceptable
- Preferred: 2-3 years of communications experience in a mid-size corporate setting
- Preferred: Proficient in MS Office; Including Word and Excel and have advanced skills in PowerPoint, Publisher (or other desktop publishing software) and SharePoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced ability to speak clearly and
persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens intently and gets clarification, where needed;
responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills and participates in meetings.
Able to write clearly and informatively, adapting to different audience types - Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision (self-motivated)
- Use of discretion and confidentiality
- Good time management skills, planning, and organization. Ability to plan and manage multiple
projects and meet deadlines - Excellent attention to detail is a must. Problem analysis and problem resolution
- Generate innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with work
problems and opportunities - Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Travel to other Company sites may be required
