Must have strong professional boundaries and customer service skills. Correction Techs are responsible for the safety and security of the facility, property, residents and community.

Requires a HS diploma or GED. Must be available on weekends and holidays.
Excellent entry level position for anyone interested in law enforcement, criminal justice and/or corrections.
Great way to gain experience in the criminal justice field.

Rotating 12 hour shifts
Medical, dental and vision options after 60 days of employment (for full time employees)
40 hours of paid vacation after 1 year of service, increasing to 80 hours of vacation after 2 years of service (for full time employees)
Paid sick leave accruing at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (for all employees)
We also have FREE PARKING on site for all employees.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Read, comprehend, interpret, and enforce, policies, operating procedures, emergency plans, documents, and other written or verbal directives, governing daily activities.

  • Work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends. Demonstrate the ability to sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods of time. Maintain physical and mental alertness. Be able to handle stress that may occur under normal or unusual circumstances in this position.

  • Formulate and prepare accurate, concise reports, forms, and logs, using proper format, grammar, and spelling.

  • Maintain a professional demeanor and practice emotional self-control while responding to incidents and interacting with inmates, staff, and visitors. Identify, report, and assist as trained, any person who appears to need medical care.

  • Supervise and effectively communicate with inmates during meal times, work periods, classroom attendance, visitation, sleeping hours, recreation time, and any other time as required by policy and supervisors. Instruct inmate clients in proper sanitation procedures.

  • Ensure the overall safety, security, and welfare of staff, inmates, visitors, volunteers, and the surrounding community. Conduct daily inspection of the housing areas.

  • Control contraband by frequent patrols and by performing visual and manual searches of persons and living quarters. Conduct accurate counts, according to policy and procedures, and as instructed during any emergency.

  • Record and report maintenance problems through daily and weekly inspections. Collect, count, prepare receipts, and make copies of, all inmate monies, as necessary.

  • Conduct intake on all new inmates as required, including assembling a security file, and documentation and entry in the work release inmate management system (wrims).

  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings, as required by supervisors and policy.

  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly log books, signing inmates out of, and into, the facility, and making other required entries in wrims.

  • Ensure all applicable policies and procedures that govern this position are followed. All other related duties assigned by a supervisor.

  • Maintain personal safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

  • Recognize and maintain safety concerns with regards to inmates. Report any infractions immediately and correct the behaviors to maintain a safe working environment.


    Terms of Employment

    Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as a condition of employment. All Applicants must provide proof of Covid vaccination prior to employment.

    There are only two (2) exceptions to this requirement.

    1-The individual is excused from receiving Covid-19 vaccine due to a qualifying medical reason.Proper documentation from a healthcare provider is required. The documentation does not need to reflect a diagnosis but it does need to be provided by a licensed healthcare provider. It must be verifiable.

    2-The individual is declining vaccination due to a religious belief.

    The individual must demonstrate that this is a religiously held belief. This may be demonstrated by providing a letter from a religious leader. This letter must be verifiable.
