Position Summary

The Accountant will primarily be responsible for all cost and inventory accounting along with analyzing & reporting on business performance. The position will also support general closing activities, financial forecasts and various productivity & inventory projects. The individual will need to have previous manufacturing experience and be self-motivated with experience driving process improvements.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide management with daily, weekly & monthly reporting and analysis to measure performance and works on corrective actions when required.
  • Supports month end close & post close responsibilities including journal entries, account reconciliations and plant performance / variance reporting.
  • Support costing of new product standard costs & the annual revision of all standards.
  • Actively engaged in supporting and driving plant productivity projects.
  • Leads and/or supports inventory control & reduction initiatives.
  • Assists with the preparation / review of financial justifications for major / capital expense investments and tracks ROI.
  • Establishes and maintain internal controls to support the financial infrastructure.
  • Supports the annual budget process.
  • Evaluates & implements new ways to improve efficiencies within the function & across the business.
  • Supports the annual audit of an external CPA firm along with various tax requirements.
  • Assists with the control and maintenance of fixed asset inventory.
  • Lead AR collection efforts when issues arise.

Experience and Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 4+ years’ experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing company
  • CPA or CMA certification would be considered a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to seek resources as required
  • Very strong organizational and business process skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed and motivate others
