Summary:

We currently have an opening for a Cost Estimator Manager in our Global Services Design Team. The location of this position is flexible for the right candidate. Our core business hubs are in Marlborough, MA, Manchester, NH and Richland, WA.

Tetra Tech provides architecture and engineering services in support of deployed U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel, as well as allied foreign government agencies. Our engineers and architects deliver facility and utility planning, design, and construction phase services around the world, including remote locations. From buildings and utilities to airfield and waterfront facilities, Tetra Tech’s multidisciplinary expertise spans the full range of military installation projects.

International development projects have included feasibility studies, design, retrofitting, and construction of housing for displaced populations, roads, energy solutions, health care facilities, grade schools and universities, water and wastewater infrastructure, wastewater reuse, and disaster relief services.

Your Role:

• Train, mentor and supervise cost estimating team
• Ensure corporate and client required estimating procedures are followed
• Support and work with staff in the review of project plans, requirements, and specifications, in both the solicitation and execution phases
• Oversee and perform quantity take-offs and pricing of construction projects
• Perform constructability reviews and develop draft project construction schedules as needed
• Participate in and/or lead client presentations such as charrettes, design review meetings, and value engineering meetings
• Identify new opportunities and develop new business
• Prepare written proposals and fee proposals for executing cost estimating services
• Some domestic or international short-term travel will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university; engineering or quantity survey degree preferred
• Minimum 10 years’ experience related to design and construction services
• Professional level certification such as Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineer Certified Cost Professional (AACE CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (AACE CEP) is preferred or obtainable within six months of hire
• General knowledge of construction methods, scheduling and practices preferred
• Well-versed in use of cost estimating software (MII / MCASES) highly preferred
• Working knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense or other federal agency cost estimating/engineering principles and best practices preferred
• OCONUS project experience preferred
• Professional staff supervisory experience is desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
• Due to the clients we serve this position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card
• Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc.
