Position Summary:
Counter sales employees perform a variety of duties. Primarily greet and assist customers, provide technical advice, and promote the current sales promotions
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assisting customers with their heavy-duty parts questions and needs (either in-person or via telephone)
· Operating a cash register, computer and paper cataloging systems and process daily paperwork and forms
· Locate and pull all parts as requested by customers and/or technicians
· Effectively communicating features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers
· Demonstrate knowledge of products and their applications (give technical advice, troubleshoot, and help solve customer’s problems
· Handle warranty or defective parts for customers in accordance with company procedure
· Assist in processing core returns
· Provide sales support, process customer stock orders
· Assist outside salesperson, as needed
· Ensure that counter parts area is clean and in order. Utilize display areas encourage sales
· Other related duties as assigned
· QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Prior Heavy-Duty parts background or knowledge is preferred
· Previous experience in customer relations is preferred
· Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal)
· A positive attitude and great personal drive
· A willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced retail sales environment
· Availability to work on Saturday
· Ability to move up to 100 lbs. and lift up to 60 lbs.
· Valid driver’s license
