The Board seeks a dynamic and thoughtful leader who fosters a collaborative work environment that values integrity, creativity, and inclusivity. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a proven track record of community engagement and involvement, who brings a collaborative leadership style, both within the County organization and with the public. The next CAO will be a confident and courageous leader who understands the County form of government and can work effectively and impartially with the Board to provide feedback, guidance, and recommendations on critical policy issues facing the community. The Board also seeks a strategic thinker who is knowledgeable about innovative approaches in talent management, succession planning, and recruitment strategies to attract and retain a high-performing and diverse workforce.

Candidates with experience in emergency training and preparedness, ability to support and understand small rural counties that have a recreation-based economy, and comfortable working in a collaborative incident command systems are highly desired.

The current annual salary range is $173,669 - $211,096. Placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
