POSITION SUMMARY –Creative Specialist: Production

6-month contract with potential to be extended

McDermott is seeking a creative visual storyteller with experience in graphic design, photography, video, presentations, web design and motion graphics for corporate campaigns. As part of our corporate creative and marketing team, you will have responsibility for creating, designing and editing digital and print materials to support the McDermott brand strategy with internal and external audiences. You naturally possess excellent communications, planning, time management, and follow-through skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced industry and work on multiple projects at once.

The Creative Specialist role is hands-on. The ideal candidate brings fresh thinking, new ideas and creative approaches to corporate design and campaigns. Relevant experience and the ability to manage creative solutions from concept to design to print or digital production is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proven track record of translating a brand’s vision through design content
• Ability to apply imagination, creativity and originality from brainstorming to print/production
• 3+ years of design experience
• Ability to build strong working relationships as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with corporate, project and event photography and video, editing and production
• Experience designing a wide range of materials that may include creative campaigns with multiple outputs: social graphics, digital signage, web graphics, presentations, collateral, large-scale graphics, internal communication graphics, newsletters, and marketing materials
• Strong graphic design knowledge and experience including a solid understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns, and other design principles
• Attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines
• Working knowledge of creative writing, copywriting, and copyediting skills
• Ability to think critically and accurately problem solve
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office software applications, motion graphics/After Effects preferred
• Project management software familiarity (such as Asana)
• Experience in energy, construction or engineering industry preferred

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Degree in graphic design or related field
• Experience working in an agency preferred
• Experience in energy industry preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in graphic design, creative production, branding, advertising

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
